How it works

From photo to wood, one careful step at a time.

The full timeline is 2–3 weeks from sketch confirmation. You'll hear from me at every checkpoint — no silence between order and arrival.

  1. 01

    Send photos

Two to three clear photos, ideally in natural light, showing the face from a few angles. The sharper the photo, the more detail makes it into the wood.

  2. 02

    Sketch confirmation

I draw a composition sketch and send it for approval. One round of revisions is included before carving begins.

  3. 03

    Carving or painting

Made by hand, layer by layer — a few sittings over a couple of days for a woodcut, longer for an oil painting. I send progress photos so you can watch your animal appear.

  4. 04

    Finish & ship

Woodcuts sealed with food-safe oil and wax; oil paintings varnished and dried. Both packed in a gift box and shipped insured.

Common questions

Can I make changes after the sketch?
Yes — one round of revisions on the sketch is included. Once carving or painting begins, changes aren't possible since each layer builds on the last.
What if my pet has passed?
Many commissions are memorials. Send the best photos you have and tell me anything about them you want me to know — favorite expression, a particular pose, anything that would help me find them in the wood.
How do you handle payment?
50% deposit before I start the sketch, 50% balance before shipping. Stripe for cards, or Venmo / PayPal if you prefer.
Do you ship internationally?
US shipping is included on orders over $200 ($8 flat below that). International orders are case by case — message me with your country before ordering.
Do all orders include a gift box?
Yes — every piece ships in protective gift packaging suitable for giving directly.
